Gap Year Visas

Plan Your Trip  » Visas

Congratulations! Landing on this page means organising your visas just got a whole lot easier, so that’s one less thing to worry about! Our dedicated visa planning service is a brilliant tool for determining exactly what visas you will need for your trip, and then allowing you to book them right here, right now.

Just use the interactive map below to select what countries you will be visiting (or type in the box at the bottom) and then click the orange button. This will bring up visa information for each country according to your nationality. You may find that for some countries you will not need a visa, but for the ones you do, completely up-to-date information and prices will appear. All you have to do then is select the right options for you and away you go!

An increasing number of countries are introducing eVisas, usually if the country doesn’t have many embassies around the world! eVisas are issued electronically and normally you need to print the eVisa out and bring it with you when you travel. Some eVisas don’t need to be printed out, such as the Canadian ETA, as it will show up when airline/immigration staff scan your passport.

Then you have what we call ‘old school visas’, which are physically put into your passport. Sometimes they’ll be a piece of paper, similar to an eVisa, that the embassy gives you along with your passport. More often, they’re stickers which are stuck onto a page in your passport and cannot (and should not!) be removed. You will have to send us your passport for this kind of visa, which the embassy holds onto while they process your application.

Regardless of what visa you get, it’s important to have at least 2-3 blank pages in your passport (depending on which country you’re going to) so that there’s space for immigration staff to stamp your passport when you enter and depart the country.
